California lawmakers have voted to keep open the state’s last operating nuclear power plant, after the governor warned the state could face rolling blackouts if its twin reactors were retired too soon.
California’s state legislature on Wednesday approved a blueprint by the governor, Gavin Newsom, to extend the lifespan of the Diablo Canyon Power Plant by five years.
