Alsobrooks Administration: 2021 Annual Report

Today, County Executive Angela Alsobrooks released the 2021 Annual Report for Prince George’s County. Click here to view.

The 2021 Annual Report details our accomplishments over the past year, and I am truly Prince George’s Proud that, together, we have accomplished so much. I am particularly proud of the work that we have continued to accomplish throughout this pandemic. We developed new ways to keep residents engaged and informed so they could stay safe, and we launched new programs to provide food assistance, rental assistance, employment assistance, small business grants, and so much more.

To make sure we could recover from the pandemic, we formed the Prince George’s Forward Task Force, a group of subject-matter experts who focused on five key areas of recovery for our County. With the authorization of a life-saving COVID-19 vaccine, we launched a comprehensive vaccination program that has provided over 1.2 million vaccinations to Prince Georgians. Through our collective efforts, we are poised to emerge stronger than ever from this pandemic.

Despite the many challenges we’ve had to navigate, we never lost focus on our Proud Priorities, and we continued to deliver on promises to build a more efficient County Government, invest in our youth, and grow and develop in a smart way that does not leave any of our communities behind. We broke ground on nine new schools, six of which were through our Alternative Construction Finance (ACF) program, a historic and unprecedented amount of new school construction in just one year.
