A man released an uninjured male hostage Saturday evening amid a dramatic standoff with authorities at a Texas synagogue in Colleyville, local officials announced.
FBI crisis negotiators remained in contact with the suspect, said a statement from the Colleyville Police Department. There have been no reports of injuries.
The unidentified suspect is still holding at least three hostages — reportedly including a rabbi — who were seized during a Saturday service that was streamed live on Facebook.
A SWAT team initially responded to a call for help at 10:41 a.m. local time on the same block as Congregation Beth Israel. Police evacuated the surrounding area and established a security perimeter, officials said. Continue Reading
