Murphy says senators aim to pass gun safety bill by July 4th despite 'red flag' sticking point

The lead Democratic negotiator in bipartisan talks on gun safety legislation said Tuesday that senators are seeking to pass a bill by their July Fourth recess, despite rumblings on Capitol Hill that provisions concerning so-called red flag laws remain a point of contention.
