‘Massive event’ reported at Macquarie Harbour, near Strahan, a day after mass stranding at King Island

A mass whale stranding has occurred at Macquarie Harbour on Tasmania’s west coast, near the town of Strahan, just a day after a separate mass stranding on King Island.

The latest stranding was confirmed by a spokesperson for the Tasmanian department of natural resources and environment, who could not yet provide more details.
