Celebrating the many achievements of LGBTQ Latine talent on #GLAADawards week

The GLAAD Media Institute’s Spanish-Language and Latine Media team recently celebrated the many achievements of LGBTQ Latine talent with a reception at Wallspace Art Gallery in West Hollywood.

Sharing their stories with guests were Vico Ortiz (Our Flag Means Death), Juliana Joel (Raven’s Home), Luis Sandoval (Despierta América, K-LOVE) and Fernanda Eguiarte and Michelle Rodríguez (La Flor Más Bella, Ana, I Carry You With Me). All of these folks are either past or present (or both!) GLAAD Media Award nominees and our celebration took place ahead of this week’s 34th annual award ceremony.

We shared successes, fostered new connections and discussed the work left to be done in entertainment and news media across Spanish-language and Latine programming. GLAAD also discussed the guides we created this year for storytellers, in both English and Spanish which you can find hereWallspace curated a small showcase of their Latine art, by Sara Sandoval, Little Ricky and others. Chef Michelle & Company  brought the beautiful food, Hornitos poured the tequila and we did it all with the support of Edison International. Photos thanks to talented Sammy Sarzoza.
