Must-See LGBTQ TV: '74th Emmy Awards' ceremony airs tomorrow, 'Monarch' debuts tonight, 'The Handmaid's Tale' season five premieres Wednesday, and 'Los Espookys' returns Friday!

Grab the remote, set your DVR or queue up your streaming service of choice! GLAAD is bringing you the LGBTQ highlights on TV this week. Check back every Sunday for up-to-date coverage in LGBTQ-inclusive programming on TV.

The 74th annual Primetime Emmy Awards premiere tomorrow on NBC at 5pm PT/8pm ET. Several LGBTQ-inclusive programs have been nominated this year, such as Abbott Elementary, Hacks, Better Call Saul, Euphoria, Stranger Things, Only Murders in the Building, What We Do in the Shadows, Yellowjackets, Dopesick, The White Lotus, RuPaul’s Drag Race, and Queer Eye, as well as numerous out stars, inlcuding Sarah Paulson, Hannah Einbinder, Kate McKinnon, Murray Bartlett, Colman Domingo, Jane Lynch, Nathan Lane, RuPaul, and more! Additonally, watch out Oscar-winning actress Ariana DeBose and out Hacks break-out star Hannah Einbinder present at the ceremony! Tonight, the country music drama Monarch premieres on Fox! The series follows the reigning King and Queen of Country Music Albie Roman and Dottie Roman, who have created an empire as country music royalty, but the very foundation of their success is a lie. When their status is put in jeopardy, heir to the crown Nicollete “Nicky” Roman stops at nothing to protect her family’s legacy, alongside her sister Gigi (out singer-songwriter Beth Ditto) and brother Luke. Monarch: Sunday, 8pm on Fox. 

The Handmaid’s Tale returns for a fifth season this Wednesday on Hulu! After getting rid of Commander Waterford, June continues her fight to find her daughter, with the help of her husband and queer best friend Moira (out actress Samira Wiley), as Gilead’s influence expands in Canada. The Handmaid’s Tale: Wednesday on Hulu.

On Friday, Spanish-language comedy Los Espookys second season debuts on HBO. Created by queer comedians Julio Torres and Ana Fabrega, the season finds the charismatic ‘Los Espookys’ leader Renaldo haunted by the ghost of a beauty pageant queen, while queer character Úrsula enlists an old acquaintance to challenge the political status quo. Additionally, season two features trans pop star Kim Petras in her TV debut as bombshell Secretary of State Kimberly Reynolds. Los Espookys: Friday, 11pm on HBO or HBO Max.
